| Bergen County area shore fishing. Can anybody spare a little advice? About 2 or 3 months ago I started fishing again and im having problems finding good places to fish from shore. I like to stay on shore because I sometimes bring my 9 year old nephew along. I currently rotate between, Round Valley Reservoir, Hunterdon County (1hr drive), Monksville Reservior, Passaic County (40min drive), Turtle Pond, Passaic County (40min drive w/limited shore access). I usually get to the location about 7am and fish until about around 5 or 6pm. My nephew does ok with (medium sized) bluegills sometimes, which is a good thing. However, other than that nothing has been going too well. I am mainly interested in Panfish, Smallies, Bucketmouths and Trout. Fishing for panfish on light tackle is good fun sometimes and it also keeps the little one occupied. I just applied for the united water permit so I can do local fishing on evenings after work (Woodcliff Lake, Oradell Reservior and Lake Tappan). Anybody have any suggestions for good locations? P.S. I'm researching Lake Hopatcong and Bear Swamp Lake now, trying to find a place to park with good access to the shore. Last edited by sheisty : 08-24-2007 at 12:52 PM. |
