Fished the KLG from 7AM til 5PM. I live about 1.5 hours away so I like to fish it all day. I could not leave because there is an abundance of fish, they are begining to spread out and fish are now in areas where the crowds are not. They were probably always there, but are now becoming more active since the weather is warming. It seems as though the brownies and rainbows are becoming more active. The highlight of the day came around 430 when I hooked into a fish that I had hooked for about five seconds. It jump clear out of the water and probably would have come home with me if caught. Although, I never keep fish, this fish was going on the wall if caught. I am not exagerating when I say the fish was pushing 28" and had to be close to 7-10lbs. It either took an olive caddis larva or a size 18 tan scud. The size 18 scud tied about 14 inches from the caddis larva seemed to be a great combo. Caught very many fish with this combo. Was this a holdover or possibly a new addition to the KLG. I hope there are more of these monsters in the gorge.
