 Pequest
Fished the Pequest a few miles below the hatchery Monday - beautiful day, but nothing coming off, and couldn't buy a fish either after trying with terrestrials and nymphs. Water was 50 degrees, partly sunny.
Here is the question - I have only been on the Pequest once before many years ago - it seemed yesterday that the river had a lot of silt in it - water was clear, but the bottom, around the many rocks had extensive patches of silt and fine sand. This is over a half mile stretch, with pocket water, so not a slow water area necessarily. Is this normal for the Pequest, or has it just not been flushed out much over the summer with higher water as it might have been in late spring? Thanks. |
