After a few unexpected hurdles from some governmental agencies, we now seem ready to remove the Seber Grove dam on the Musky. We need only hear approval from
NJ F&W as we have all funds, permits and other agency sign-offs in place. Our current water levels are low provided we don't get too much run-off this weekend.
We plan to do a partial breach initially as we did for the former Gruendyke Dam to allow the river to re-define its channel and minimize the sand flows from the upstream pond. We are once again faced with sand from a former swimming hole which caused some headaches with Gruendyke.
Volunteers will be needed after we get the ground thawed to plant native trees and shrubs. I'll post dates once we get closer. Many here have PMed me volunteering to help with this and other projects - many, many thanks to all of you!
