Musconetcong River Clean-Up April 19th TU chapters will be joining our partner the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA) for their annual Musky clean-up on Saturday, April 19th. Time is from 9 a.m. until noon. If you are interested and haven't contacted your TU chapter or the watershed association, please pm me with your name and if you are closest to the upper, middle or lower section of the river. We have over 75 volunteers, but I need plenty more as we attempt for the first time to cover all 43 miles of the mainstem plus several major tribs. Centenary College students will also be helping out in the Hackettstown area on Tuesday the 22nd and we have set aside a part of the river for them to cover on that day. I'm looking for school kids, scout troops, moms and dads and any and all willing to get out and help clean up our Wild & Scenic river.
The MWA is planning a free barbeque lunch at Hampton Park after noon that day for any interested volunteers, so I need a head count if you're interested in that as well, please. All are welcome, just bring gloves and waders if you have them (not essential but they help). We will have garbage bags. |
