Was in Roscoe on Saturday and the water was a bit high and dirty so I tried somthing different. I fished the little stream that runs along Rt 17 in the area just before Liberty if heading east.
I dont know the name of it but it had decent water with all the rain. Caught 15-20 brookies in the 7-9 inch range and four browns 10-11-11and one 14 inch using hoppers, caddis and royal wulff, this was a surprise and had a ball. Had the river to myself but think under normal low water sumer conditions would be difficult if not close to impossible for that kind of success. Just goes to show, the fish are everywhere and conditions are the key. I also saw a dead pike or pickeral looking fish about 14-16 inches float by. Anyone know the name of this little stream ? |
