| Weekend report Went up to the Willowemoc Saturday for a few hours of leisurely fishing. Couldn't really get out to the EB/WB streams due to family obligations. Anyway early afternoon the fishing was slow but finally picked up after 5pm. Caught a nice 17" brown on a #16 beetle after he flashed at my nymph drifting by. It was funny because I tried a #18 elkhair caddis before the beetle with about ten casts and he didn't even come up but when I threw out the beetle he nailed it on the first cast. By this time a few were rising above in a very slow moving pool and I managed to get two 10"/11" browns on the beetle. Then I had to race home for the family function I had to attend. How did everybody else do on the weekend????  |
