I just got back from a 2 week tour of the state...
We fished The Madison, Ruby, Missouri, Gallatin, Beaverhead, A few Lakes, The Henry's Fork, The Yellowstone and The Firehole. I might have left some out!
The fishing was "Light's Out." I didn't even nymph that much. I fished a ton of dry/dropper and dries. What impressed me were the sizes of the fish this year as compared to other trips.
The Beaverhead was loaded with fish. It looked like a fishbowl that was swarming with wild browns. The Madison was it's usual nymphing paradise. The Yellowstone was the only disappointment as there were fewer Cutts than years prior. The Missouri was un-real.
It goes with without saying that Montana is truly a wild trout paradise that any and all fly fishermen should experience. Hopefully some of these photos will get some of you on a plane!

I couldn't reisist catching this one off the bridge. It brought back childhood memories.
