I just spent the last couple days working in Tampa and had an opportunity to look up an old friend...Dave Chouinard has opened his new fly shop on Hillsborough Ave in Tampa (a few miles from the airport)...For those that arent familiar with Dave, he was the former owner of the Fly Hatch in Red Bank and latter Shrewsbury NJ...His new fly shop reminds me of his old shop in Red Bank (well stocked for the local fishing)..and Dave is his usual self..He is extremely excited about the fly fishing opportunites around Tampa...He and a customer were breathlessly telling me about a 130 pound class tarpon Dave lost at the boat a few days ago....

So if you are in Western or Central Florida and are looking for some fishing opportunites, Look up Dave at the Tampa Angler...
