That's like saying water is water.

Polarization is polarization too. Luxotica (Rayban, Revo, etc...) uses a polarized coating on the outside of the lens. This makes them super easy to scratch. Maui Jim, Costa DelMars, and I believe Ocean optics builds the polarization into the lens. I've had my Costa Delmars for 3 years and not a scratch!
So yes, polarization is polarization. How it's implimented into something like glasses or a camera filter is a different story. This is why you pay a premium price for a premium product.
