If you don't want to contribute to the Red Cross there are always other organizations like World Vision that are doing their part to help the injured and orphaned children of the Haitian earthquake disaster. Charity Navigator is a good place to check that the organization you donate to is legitimate.

It's nice to see there are so many people on this site that are willing to help those in dire need, both in this country and abroad. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very worthy organization as are those working hard in cancer research. I'm sure there are many children in Haiti that are right now "making a wish" as there are children in the US who wish there was something they could do.
