Rate this Entry
I will be fishing a week on the St Lawrence mid September for the first time.
Looking for some advice as to places to try and also techniques/flies
Also any cottages that you might suggest
don't hesitate to send PMs if you want

I will be taking an 18ft center console(vs a 16 ft semi V jon boat) that iuse to fish the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays since I hear theat winds could be an issue PlUS
it's big water
Thanks
Tom

    Hi,

Just noticed this request. Hope you had a good trip.

I have fished downriver from Alex Bay for many years.

My one piece of advice is to be careful, rocks pop up to shear pins or worse all the time.

More and more walleyes the last few years and fewer bass. But, the bass are huge!!!

The invasive round gobies have reduced successful spawning for bass, perch, rock bass, sunfish, etc. The bass finally realized gobies taste good and must eat a lot of them.

The back bays and shorelines can be fun stripping a big streamer. Big pike and occasional musky attack with gusto!! Red and White like the old big daredevil spoon works well on pike. Have not caught enough musky to know what may work on them. Chartreuse and white or orange and white is also good.

    Take care,

    Jim
