All of us steelheaders who hoped to someday see the reopening of the famous C & M Diner will be disappointed to learn it was razed on November 10th. A virtual gold mine, long known for its powerhouse steelheader's breakfasts, we have seen the diner standing vacant for the last few years. According to sources at MacDonalds, the owner was a big-time gambler who fell into heavy debt. They also stated the site will become a new Byrne Dairy store.

IMHO, someone missed out on an excellent business opportunity. The diner was located in a perfect location, had a good flow of customer traffic, plus ample parking for drift boat trailers and numerous vehicles.
