Re: BFB Birthday Bow

It was cold out there today and with the wind it felt like zero. When I left the house my gauge said 21 degrees. Started at Werner's Pool, only cause no one was there. Water temp was 38 degrees and the river was still up and flowing well.

Hooked this nice male brownie on my third cast. Sorry BB, not!

Then headed down stream and caught a couple smaller guys. Next I headed to the petting zoo and hooked a big bow (not to be confused with NEFF's BIGBOW) only to have my guides freeze up while fighting her with about 20' of line out. I chased her up and down the river, trying to get the ice out of my guides at the same time, until she went around a branch in the water and broke me off.

Headed upstream from there and got a few in the log jam.

Then headed back down below the petting zoo, got one more bow.

I was thinking more about a hot cup of coffee than catching another fish, so I called it a day.

Fished a GRHE below a Peeking Caddis and all landed fish were on the GRHE.

Many of the fish are pooled up, but if you like hunting you can still find some in the ripples.

Unfortunately I didn't see any risers today, but didn't see any bugs either.

Definately better than working.
