I picked up a new TFO 9' 5 wt. thursday and broke it in today on the Souhegan river in NH. I was happy to see new signs up stating a delayed harvest. No fish could be taken until June 15. Now their may be a shot at some dry fly fishing. THe river used to be fished out well before then so the fish never had a chance to get use to the decent caddis hatch that comes off the river. No fish were rising today though so I stuck with streamers. I landed my first rainbow on a green bugger the rest on a black, five fish in all including one brown. THe first fish was about a foot but the rest were 14"16", not bad despite they were stockies. All in all it was a good day and I really enjoyed the new rod.
