Upper East Branch above Reservoir?

I'm going to be heading to Margaretville in the beginning of October and I see that the Upper East Branch runs right through there. I would like to get some trout fishing in while up there. How productive is the Upper East Branch and what's it like? Are there any other good bets within a short drive? I see there are many tribs like the Bushkill, Dry Brook and some others.

If I had more time I would just drive down to the Esopus, Beaverkill or Lower East Branch but I would like to try some new waters and have a conveniently close fishery. Thanks for any and all help and I'll be sure to post a report.
