Ebay Drift boat Scam Alert!

I was just cruising Ebay, and someone listed a 2002 Clackacraft drift boat with trailer ,oars and boat cover. The bidding was at $152 with no reserve and it was a 1 day auction. The seller had a 90 plus positive feedback score, and the listing looked absolutely legit. It stated in the listing that they would stop the auction and sell it for $1300.I was freaking out,the boat was worth at least $4k to $5k .It was located in High point NC,No problem I could pick it up this weekend.I bid $600 to get a bid on it and was the high bidder, and emailed them that I wanted the boat and would pay them the $1300. I was waiting for them to email me back, and I got an email from Ebay that the auction was cancelled, and that it was a phishing scam.someone
hijacked someones account and was phishing to get someone to make a payment to them.I heard of bogus phishing emails sent to people, but I have over 340 Ebay transactions and never came across something like this before. I was glad I didn't get scammed, but I was stoked about getting that boat and drifting by C-dun on the West Branch and watching the steam come out of his ears!! If I sent them $1300 and got scammed ,I would be the one with steam coming out of my ears, and a dent in my head from my little woman whacking me in the head with a frying pan!! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up to keep an eye out for bogus auctions.
