Fished the WB on Monday June 2, and in addition to the wind, low flows and sparse hatches, now there is the annual green crud which collects on your fly if you let it float downstream at all. Which is a problem for me since I catch most of my WB fish presenting the fly 45 degrees downstream..To keep the crud off the fly, I had to cast directly across stream, and allow the fly to float only about four feet, before picking it up again for another cast. Not my style of fishing.
Does anyone have some techniques that they use under these conditions?
Thanks,
