Parking @ Hoffman's Bridge

As I was leaving Hoffman's this evening, a local guide I know came up and asked if I knew if this parking lot was private property, owned by the family across the street or public?

I didn't know the answer.

I am wondering if any of our member's know the correct answer.

( I was parked in this photo where this first pickup truck is parked beside the road signs.)

Reason I was asked was at the far side there are some cinder blocks and large stones blocking some of the parking spots limiting the number of cars able to park there.

For those not too familiar with this small parking area, it is used by fisherman, bikers, and people just hiking or walking their pets inside the gorge.

If it is private property, the owner has been gracious enought to allow people to park there. We must respect his property and rights.

If it is not.. well it is a different matter all together.

I know a few years ago a home owner about a mile up from this lot towards Califon, got tired of the traffic going by and set buckets out on the center of what is a narrow roadway to begin with to slow people. The local police took corrective action before something serious happened.

Any one with the correct answer would be appreciated.
