Gallows tool

I purchased the book, "Tying Flies The Paraloop Way" by, " Ian Moutter." What a great book for ideas and easy explanations of how to do things.

Anyone here use the Gallows tool? This thing looks like a really great tool that can be used to tie some really nice patterns. It's described in the book as, "The tyers fourth Hand", and I can see why. I wish I could explain to those of you who aren't familiar with it, exactly what it looks like. It's basically for creating parachute flies and wrapping the hackle around the post. This tool appears to make it a cynch! This book points out numerous other functions this device can be used for other than the parachute fly too! Basically, you've gotta be creative with the tools you've got.

I'm going to get out to Rays today to see if they have any for a reasonable price. The book does say you can make your own out of a coat hanger but also continues on to say that they're relatively so cheap that you shouldn't waste your time trying to build one. I'll be the judge of that!
