Hit the Bushkill from 7:15 to dark last night. Lots of bug activity. A few mayflies, but mostly large swarms of very tiny flies that I couldn't identify. Had to be careful not to breathe too deeply for fear of ingesting a colony
Was a bit concerned, as I hooked up a rainbow on the first cast...we all know what that usually means. Fortunately, it was to be a nice evening on the water. Temps were pleasant, had only one guy in eyesight.
Went with JC's march brown spider, and was nymphing it with a little shot. Man were the fish on that! I hooked (and landed) 8 fish in about an hour. It was the most fun I've had with the fly rod since last year. Hit 4 'bows, 3 brookies, and a nice brown just before I left.
JC, what does the spider imitate, if anything?
