TU Question

I have a question about the TU (Trout Conservation) group. Is TU a fly fisherman's group or is it a group which promotes all types of fishing for trout? I only ask because I recently read somewhere about TU and the FFF regarding their 'status' so to speak in the world of Fishng. FFF from my understanding is strictly a flyfisherman's/lady's group while TU on the otherhand is not only fly fishing for trout but also spin and bait and I guess any other legal means. It strikes me odd because I've never seen TU offer a free pouch with a set of mepps treble hooking lures or any other lures. I've never seen the lifetime membership offer a shiny new garcia reel with a shakespear ugly stick either. It is odd that TU promotes themselves as not only for fly fishing but yet out of all the years I been a TU member I have never received a calendar with a guy pulling a nice night crawler out of a trouts mouth. it's always a fly. Heres my thoughts and please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. If TU started to print pictures and openly endorse trout fishing with worms and treble hooks, they would lose quite a bit of the money they generate from fly fishermen and corporate sponsors.
2. keeping their support for all legal means of fishing enables them to generate funds from all types of fishermen without having to lose those other sponsors.
So what's your take on this?
