The wife suggested we take a walk in the woods today, and perhaps do some small stream trouting. The woods were beautiful when we arrived with plenty of snow and peace and solitude. The stream was clear and cold with a water temp of 34 degrees. I did not expect to much in the way of fish with the water so cold........Wrong, those brookies were on the feed and in one stretch of water I had at least 10 hits, and a few hookups, even got one to pose. The activity lasted but a short while, but there is nothing like the New England woods in winter.
