This male spinner pattern is a late summer fly - very early fall fly. Clip the wings in close, and you have a little midge! Great pattern. RECIPE: Size: 24, Varivas 998 hook Body: White + Black, 8/0 thread Tail: White Microfibets Wings: Hi-Vis color #21. Start with thread about 1/2 way down shaft. Wrap back to bend. Tie Microfibettes in. Wrap back up to 1/2 way and whip finish. Start black thread 1/2 way down shaft. Wrap up to about 1/4 way behind eye. Tie in wings with figure eights. Whip finish, clip wings to desired length. Make sure the wings are not too thick.
